Director, Melanie Levy: Melanie Levy is currently pursuing an MFA degree in Documentary Film & Video at Stanford University. Prior to her graduate studies she received a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she performed with the Atlantic Theater Company, Playwrights Horizons Studios, and on independent projects based in film, theater and multimedia. Her first short film Leaving Paradise, The Jews of Jamaica (2006) propelled her to explore documentaries that shed light on the unexpected and explore communities, situations and individuals that fall between our typical modes of definition.
Artist, Charles Curtis Blackwell: Visual Artist, Playwright, poet, performing artist et al Charles Curtis Blackwell has written such plays as "Is, The Color of Mississippi Mud," which was produced in both Washington D.C. and Sacramento, and "Im a Boxer, a love story" , has been published both nationally and internationally. His first book, "The Fiery Response To Love's Callings", was published in 1999. He was recently published in Eugene Redmond's "Drum Voices Revue" and has produced three spoken word CDs--featuring Jazz drummer Billy Toliver. He was also affiliated with The William James Assocciation's Arts in Prison Program. His award winning visual work has been featured around the United States exhibitions honoring the work of artists with disabilities. Currently he resides in the San Francisco Bay Area where he has organized Writer's workshops and community Cultural Arts events ath the Faithful Fools Agency in the San Francisco Tenderloin.
